Who we are.
Green Projects Group is your go-to authority on energy efficiency programs when there's more on the line. Because the conversation is bigger than it used to be. We're not just talking about using less natural gas anymore. We're talking about switching to all-electric appliances and vehicles. Some folks want solar. We're talking about virtual power plants. We're talking about educating the public and changing hearts and minds. We're talking about centering equitable access to clean power, and public health outcomes.
Small but mighty, Green Projects Group is fueled by a passion for sustainability and creating green communities. We also believe in the importance of relationships, including relationships with our customers as well as our utility and municipal partners.
We have received an award for our commercial work, designed a one-of-a-kind "easy button" LED distribution program called the Free Lightbulb Program, a one-of-a-kind electrification coaching program, and a (you guessed it) a one-of-a-kind customized energy efficiency kit fulfillment program. We are working to spread an innovative "Home Energy 101" program across Michigan, designed and tested in Holland, MI. What do you want to achieve?
WHAT WE CARE ABOUT
We seek a world with energy services that can change hearts and minds by meeting those hearts and minds where they are.
How do we do that? By making green projects, easy projects.
joyful collaboration

About Our President
When Green Projects Group President Will Gallmeyer was a kid, he wanted to be “an artist, a farmer, and a dad.” In college, he assumed he would be running a green building business sometime before he was 30. In early 2019, he took a leap of faith and began his own business. GPG draws on a diverse breadth of experiences, but it is laser-focused on sustainability and trusted relationships.
Will had a range of experiences in the sustainability field before founding GPG. He worked in residential energy auditing, utility rebate programs, and LED supply, to name a few.
On the personal side, Will, his wife Sam, their two daughters, and their sweet pup live in the Greater Grand Rapids area and can often be found in local area parks across West Michigan.
Passionate curiosity and a holistic worldview have led GPG to other projects such as furniture sustainability consulting, composting, electrification, gardening, and mushroom leather. Drop us a line any time to talk about your latest sustainability interest. Will loves projects.
Memberships & Certificates
Through the DOE I am a Home Energy Score Certified Assessor™, which enables me to produce DOE's Home Energy Score reports. The Home Energy Score Report estimates home energy use, and associated costs, and provides energy solutions to cost-effectively improve the home’s efficiency. Each Home Energy Score is shown on a simple one-to-ten scale, where a ten represents the most efficient homes. This is a great baseline for electrification coaching.
I have received a certificate of knowledge in Total Building Performance from the Building Performance Institute. This certificate prepares project managers to lead the planning and design of deep energy retrofit projects, coordinating the process to meet their customers' needs and budgets.
From the Michigan Heat Pumps Collective, I have been certified in Designing ASHPs (air-source heat pumps) with Sizing and Selection in mind. When properly installed, an air-source heat pump can deliver up to three times more heat energy to a home than the electrical energy it consumes.
I'm pleased to share that I have completed DTE & Walker Miller school, called "Upskilled Training."
This was hosted at Muskegon Community College and attended by 10 bright, capable, and motivated Michiganders looking to further our credentials in the energy efficiency field.
We received four Building Performance Institute certifications, called Building Science Principles, Healthy Housing Principles, Building Analyst - Technician, and Building Analyst - Professional.
It was an honor learning alongside them, and it was a pleasure to learn from the master air doctor himself, Brynn Cooksey owner at HVAC U, and Air Doctors.
I plan to use these skills to help Michiganders answer two questions: 1. is my home fit for a heat pump and, if not; 2. what insulation and air sealing do we need to get it ready?
Reach out if you're trying to answer those questions for yourself.
