2025 – Adding Home Performance, to do More Good

A BIG QUESTION

This December marks the end of the first quarter of this century. So I have a pretty big question for you: How will we create the future we deserve, over the next 25 years?

Imagine it’s 2050. America’s carbon footprint has been smashed to bits and we have turned a corner on global climate change. How did we get here?

I’ve got a guess.

42% Better

Most of us aren’t titans of industry, and most of us don’t design cars. But each and every one of us still touches a huge part of America’s carbon footprint problem: 42% of the problem, to be exact.

Incremental changes – even our beloved LEDs and efficiency improvements for gas appliances – can’t touch this 42%.

Green Projects Group has a new direction, which takes direct aim at this 42%. To create the future we deserve, we need to change our homes’ machines. ASAP.

As such, we are adding home performance to our services, to help you break up with natural gas.

This one action has the power to lower America’s carbon footprint by 42%. Ever since I learned this number, and realized I could help people go all-electric, I’ve been obsessed with making it happen.

HOME PERFORMANCE FOR ELECTRIFICATION

Lots of research, training, and beta testing has been going on behind the scenes to design a simple, impactful service to affect real change in Michigan. You’ve probably noticed a lot fewer emails about free LEDs, and many more emails about residential electrification.

Yes, we have to go all-electric and break up with natural gas. This won’t be easy, but it is completely doable. It’s entirely within our reach.

Residential electrification is the path forward for most of us. It’s a clear-eyed way for each of us to do more; to touch this 42%. It’s a roadmap for real change. Switching to heat pumps and other all-electric machines leave their gas counterparts in the dust and take advantage of an ever-greener electric grid.

Some of us will need to weatherize our homes, to limit wasted heat, and make running heat pumps affordable. Think air sealing and insulation.

By 2050 (or ASAP), these all-electric cars and residential machines – powered by clean, renewable, all-American electrons – will ensure that future generations have a chance to live their American dream.

Servicing these machines, power plants, vehicles, electrical distribution systems, and other parts of the all-electric economy will provide good, well-paying jobs. This is already happening in Michigan.
