I’ve fallen down an HVAC rabbit hole…

And I can’t get up.

I’ve been working with Ric for over a year. He’s been wanting to go all-electric, and he signed up to be a beta tester for my electrification coaching service.

We’ve probably had about 20 meetings. We’ve achieved some amazing things, like installing solar, a smart panel, and a heat pump water heater.

But one question has lingered: could he heat and cool with a heat pump?

When it comes to going all-electric, HVAC is absolutely key. It’s about 50% of your home’s carbon footprint if you omit the car.

We started shopping around for quotes and getting wildly different recommendations and opinions from HVAC contractors. And this was after I’d already identified the most pro-heat pump contractors in West Michigan.

If I really wanted to help him (and I did), I realized there was no way around it: I had to learn for myself about proper HVAC sizing. Your system size is based on your “heating load” and “cooling load.”

I found a process that educates and involves the customer, deals with tons of comfort issues, decarbonizes your space conditioning (when possible), and comes up with a likely load range. And it’s free.

If you want additional testing there are fees, but the basic consultation is free. It starts with one question: do you want your new HVAC to do anything your old system didn’t do?

If the answer is “no,” check out this video. If the answer is still no, great! You need a “like-for-like” replacement. If the answer is “yes” or “maybe,” I have four more questions for you and a free assessment to offer you.

If you’d like to schedule a free appointment for an HVAC assessment, fill out this form and I’ll get back to you!

P.S. The new system is called HVAC 2.0 and my landing page there is not highly customized for GPG, but fear not it’s my form and will come right to me.
